The unicorn ran as far as her hooves could take her, despite the snow. She was cold, hungry, but mostly sad and scared. She had felt trapped for most of her life, going nowhere in school, unable to get herself employed, and had found out that everyone whom she thought loved her turned out to only put up with her because they just felt sorry for her.
Her friends didn’t even like her and found her annoying. Her family cared nothing for her and found her a nuisance. Even the man she loved had admitted to her that he only began dating her out of pity due to her terrible past lover. She ran away, leaving behind no note, no sign that she was leaving, because who would care? Who would care that she was gone?
“Ohh, you poor child. All alone?” asked a voice. Novella looked up and saw a beautiful alicorn mare, white with a silver mane. She wore a black dress and a golden chain carrying a vial of blood. “Who are you?” Novella asked. “I am but a friend. I have seen your suffering and only wish to end it.” the mare responded. She held out her hoof and, with her magic, dropped the contents of the vial onto it. The blood quickly took shape, becoming an apple. “Just one bite and this will all be over.” she promised.
Novella took the apple with her own magic, feeling herself in the part of Snow White. She knew fairly well that one bite was all it took for her to die. Without hesitation, she did, unaware of someone calling her name, dropping dead in the snow instantly as the alicorn grinned at the younger’s despair. The one who had shown was too late to save her.
That’s how the dream would always happen, succumbing to death like Snow White before waking up, sometimes within another dream. However, once in a while, just as she was about to take a bite of the apple, someone would stop her. That someone who would call for her, a green stallion with glasses, would be able to save her. He would hold her and make her feel protected and loved. He would let her cry from being scared, and the ominous mare would suddenly cease to exist.
However, the apple remains…it always remains. Somewhere in the back of her mind, the apple was there. But as long as the love of her life, as well as the rest of those who love her, were there, that’s where it will remain, until it would be cast out entirely. That day has yet to come. Until then, that apple remains in the back of her mind…
